plyrIQ is play-by-play football player grading software built to replace the spreadsheets — and give coaches their Saturday mornings back.
During football season, Saturday mornings start at 7:00 AM — Hudl open on one screen, spreadsheets everywhere else. Grading roughly 100 defensive plays, one player and one click at a time. After finishing the position group, the next job is merging grade reports from every coach on staff into a master sheet, then generating individual grade sheets for each player.
It worked. But it was slow and fragile — one wrong cell, one missed export, and the whole thing falls apart.
"The grading matters. Players improve faster when feedback is consistent and tied directly to the film. So the struggle is worth it."
Football coaches have used the same grading process for decades — watch film, mark a spreadsheet, compile reports. It works, but it shouldn't take hours. The real value isn't in the spreadsheet. It's in the feedback that gets back to the player.
For years, the goal was a better system — one where coaches could grade play-by-play next to the video, and players could immediately see their grades tied to the clips they came from. So we built it.
plyrIQ is a multi-tenant football player grading platform where coaches grade collaboratively and players see their results alongside the film. Saturday grading used to feel like bookkeeping. Now it feels like coaching again.
Great programs are built on more than what happens on Friday night. Showing up is the first rep. Coaches need to know who's there, who's late, and who's making it a habit — without maintaining a separate attendance spreadsheet alongside their grading spreadsheet.
plyrIQ tracks attendance with the same rigor as grades: present, absent, tardy, excused, on-time percentage, and full season trends — all in one place, alongside the film grades and depth charts.
